Sometimes standard solutions are not enough. It is then worth reaching for a material of unusual utility and aesthetic qualities.

Decorative metal sheets
Decorative metal sheets, as they are referred to, have many advantages over traditional stainless steel materials – ground or polished. An important feature is their scratch resistance. This is particularly important when using sheets, for example, in public areas that are exposed to damage or even vandalism. On the embossed surface of the material (embossing is one of the techniques used to manufacture decorative metal sheets), any damage, but also fingerprints, for example, are almost invisible. Hence the low operating costs of the structure, e.g. for repairs, maintenance, cleaning.
When analysing the benefits of using decorative metal sheets, it is important to note that they are much stiffer than those with a smooth surface. This allows thinner sheets to be used while saving weight in construction.
Another advantage of embossed sheets is the absence of light reflections typical of traditional sheets, which can be important when covering large areas, such as building facades.
This material is used by architects not only for its functional but also for its aesthetic qualities. This is especially true for coloured sheets, which do not gain their colour from the use of dyes but from the etching process. As a result, the sheet colour is extremely durable. In addition, an interesting phenomenon can be observed. The same metal sheet with which a building is covered will look different on each side. The reason for this is that the different angles of the sun's rays reflecting off the surface of the material mean that the human eye registers not just one colour, but a whole range of colours (e.g. from green through turquoise, purple to pink). While driving past such a building, one can get the impression that it changes colour with our movement.
From discos to factories
Stainless steel decorative sheets are used in architecture as material for facades, balustrades, column and pillar covers, canopy elements, window and door profiles, doors, lift cabins, etc. They are also a very attractive solution as a decorative element for restaurants, offices, hotels, shops, pubs, discos or metro stations. In combination with glass, wood or stone, they give the structure a stately and elegant appearance.
Another field of application for decorative metal sheets is the manufacture of machinery and equipment for the food industry. Embossed sheets are mainly used here. Due to the smaller contact surface compared to conventional sheet metal, goods move more easily along the production line. The material is also used to make shop and office furniture, etc.
What is available
Interest in the use of decorative metal sheets is also growing in Poland. A wide range of the world's most reputable manufacturers is available on the market. These include UK-based Rimex Metals. They are specialists in their field, with over 50 years of experience. The company creates decorative patterns on metal sheets by embossing, etching, polishing, shot-blasting and colouring.
The exclusive representative of Rimex in Poland and in the Czech Republic is Nova Trading, which has been cooperating with the British for 25 years. The company sells decorative metal sheets in both stainless steel and aluminum. The thickness ranges of the metal sheets depend primarily on the type of pattern. The most popular thicknesses are from 0.8 to 1.5 mm. The standard sheet size is considered to be 1250 x 2500 mm, although non-standard formats are also available. The decorative metal sheets in coils (only with embossed patterns) can also be imported on request. In addition, Rimex offers decorative stainless steel tubes used mainly for handrails.
