On the other hand, measuring instruments make use of the properties of martensitic steels, which when subjected to an appropriate heat treatment show high dimensional stability. Due to their high hardness and tensile strength, selected stainless steels are used for the manufacture of cutting tools or water and steam turbine blades, among others.
