Transporting of oil and gas requires an extremely resistant material - stainless steels are definitely that. Moreover, process lines used in oil processing plants are structures in which stainless steel is very often used – usually those with the highest strength parameters, such as duplex steels.

The usual grades used in this industry are: 1.4539, 1.4547, 1.4529, 1.4565, 1.4652, 1.4410, 1.4318, 1.4371, 1.4301, 1.4404, 1.4462.

Main features required from the material: resistance to sulphide stress corrosion cracking, good impact strength at low temperature, high corrosion resistance in seawater environment and in contact with chemicals.
